Number Sentences


We have been learning to write a story to match a given number sentence.

1. 49+6 =
My friend had $49. Her mum gave her $6 more. How much does she have now?

2. 67-19 =
I bought 67 lollies. I gave 19 to my little sister. How many lollies do I have left?

3. 146-68 =
My mum had 146 stickers. She gave me 68 stickers. How many does my mum have now?

4. 230+145 =
Alisha had 230 cards. I gave her 145 more. How many does she have altogether?

5. 4 x 5 =
I had 4 bags of pencils. There were 5 pencils in each bag. How many pencils do I have altogether?

6. 18 divide by 6 =
Michael had 18 cookies. He shared the cookies between his 6 friends. How many cookies did each of his friends get?
