I want to be a millionaire.
Walt: write in paragraphs
I want to be a millionaire.
One afternoon I wanted to be a millionaire. I sang the song I want to be a billionaire from Bruno Mars and I got a million dollars. I saved all my pocket money and birthday money. I finally got $1,000,000.
Before I saved a million dollars, my parents were looking at a house that they wanted. So when I saved a million dollars, I told my parents and we went off to buy the house. We moved in immediately. I loved the new house.
After we settled into our home I said that we should go and celebrate. My cousins, aunt's, uncle’s and nana’s came as well. I had a wonderful time with all my money. I spent money on me, my family and also friends. I loved having so much money. I always bought ice cream and chocolate. I felt like a queen.
It was the best time of my life being a millionaire. I spent so much money.

Walt: solve problems in financial literacy.
In this game I have to build a model to help me find the answer to the question. I was very familiar to making a model because I had done it before. I had to find the total amount of cupcakes that Mr. Nutmeg needs to put into 6 gift boxes. Each box has 12 cupcakes in them. I had to find the product of 12 and 6. The answer was 72. This was very easy for me because I know my 6 times tables. Next I would like to learn more on algebra.

Dental Presentation
Mrs Wallbridge and Mrs Ross came to talk to us about keeping our teeth clean and healthy. They are both dental technicians. We shared a few questions with Mrs Wallbridge to get more information about our teeth that we did not know. She read the first question which was “ How do our teeth turn yellow?” I learn’t that our age is one of the reasons why we get yellow teeth. When we get older, our teeth slowly starts to turn yellow. Coffee, curry and smoking turns our teeth yellow as well. Smoking turns our teeth black and yellow. That was really gross. Then she carried on answering the other questions.
Once all the questions were answered, then Mrs Wallbridge got started with her dental presentation. There was a few frightening photos that I did not like. Mrs Wallbridge was really interesting because she had a Scottish accent. I never knew that if you get knocked out and your tooth falls out, then you softly clean it and stick the tooth back in the cap. She also gave us a lot of tips on brushing our teeth. Such as using a soft toothbrush, brushing our teeth slowly and softly. She also mentioned that if you go to South Africa and you buy a bag of onions or vegetables, then you can use the bag as floss for your teeth if you run out of floss. It was all fascinating to me and I will make sure that my teeth will stay clean and healthy.

Tooth Traditions All Around The World
Walt: look for information
Tooth Traditions
All around the world, there are tooth traditions. Adults and children are very excited to do something with their first tooth when they come out. So instead of putting teeth under your pillow, see what happens all around the world.
Turkey:
Parents of children, believe that their child’s first tooth to fall out, are a part of their child’s future. If they want their child to become a great rugby player, then they will bury their child’s tooth on a rugby field. If they want their child to become a teacher, then they will bury their child’s tooth by a school.
Nigeria:
If they are a boy then they hold eight stones and they hold their tooth. If they are a girl, then they hold six stones and they hold their tooth. Then they close their eyes, say their name and then count to the number in their fists. Then they ask for their tooth back and then they throw everything in their fists away and then they run as fast as they can.
Indonesia:
When their tooth comes out, then they throw it on the roof of their house. If they throw their teeth straight, then their teeth will grow back straight. If they throw it crooked, then their teeth will grow back crooked.
Brazil:
Children in Brazil throw their tooth outside and ask the birds for a new tooth. The bird will only take the tooth if nothing has ever happened to it. Children also throw their tooth out of their window and ask St John to give them another healthy tooth.
Greece:
Children in Greece throw their tooth up on their roof for good luck. After they throw their tooth on the roof, they make a wish. They wish for healthy adult teeth.
Jamaica:
Jamaican children believe that when their tooth falls out, then a calf will come and take their tooth and them away. To keep the calf away, the children put their tooth in a tin can and shake it so hard so that it scares the calf away.
Those are my six tooth traditions from all around the world. There are also other tooth traditions. These are very unique in their own way. What is your tooth tradition?
