Ngā Tātarakihi o Parihaka - Summary
Rarawa heard news in the bakery. The Government were in the village, talking with Te Whiti. The Pakeha were always coming and going. “They read out a proclamation. 2 weeks before the soldiers were coming.” nervously said Api. A meeting has been set by Te Whiti and Tohu. Rangi heard the news from Rarawa that the soldiers were coming. Te Whiti tried talking to the pakeha Government as they were damaging their community. He didn’t turn to violence, but turned their weapons into cutting blades. The soldiers walked straight passed the villagers and continued straight up to the marae. The soldiers soon came back with Te Whiti and Tohu by their side. They marched away taking Te Whiti and Tohu with them.

Skipping At GI
On Friday the 17th of June we walked down to the GI center. Many parents were there to watch us perform. We were skipping so that we could raise money for the heart foundation. It was a really fun day as we all got to watch the other classes skip, the parents could have a turn skipping and it was amazing as we got to see what people could do with the ropes.

Easttle - Strand
I had completed my E-asttle Strand test and my result was 5P. I am very proud of my score but there are many things I need to improve on. I need to work on the volume of shapes and many other things. Next I would like to get a 5A.

Addictions
Walt: write a poem on addiction
Make a poster.
Some addictions are really bad,
But they make people really glad.
Smokes, drugs, alcohol and more,
What do you need them for?
Not setting an example
You’d rather have a sample
Of your disturbing treat
In an alleyway on the street.
It is not cool to drink and drive
I bet you’d want to be alive.
Not giving your loved ones pain
Come on use your brain.
So I request
To take my test.
Try your best
And give up drugs and all the rest.
These past few days we have been learning about addictions which is linked to our topic study the “Human Anatomy.” We wrote a poem and also created a poster about addictions. As shown it is mostly about drugs and smoking. These are really bad addictions that are really common.

Scatter Graph
Walt: write a blog post about scatter graphs.
I created 3 different sized paper planes out of newspaper. I got into a group of 3 and we all threw each of our planes. We had to throw each plane 4 times and then measure from where we stood to where the plane had landed in cm. Then I recorded the measurements onto a table. On graph paper we plotted our measurements. After that we drew a straight line to connect as many points as we could.
Labels:
cm,
measurements,
paper planes,
scatter graph,
