Walt: discuss goal setting with Dreydon and Kate.
Dreydon and Kate from Creating Communities came to our school to discuss with us about the walk and about how to set goals. Dreydon had participated in the 80 km walk and Kate the author then helped plan the walk. They had raised money for our school and other places.
Dreydon had displayed a presentation he had created to us about the walk. On the presentation there were many pictures taken during the walk. Plenty of the pictures were taken at night, during the rain, storm and cold. Kate did a lot of planning and put in a lot of effort for them to do the walk. During the walk, a camel pack was an item that was really helpful towards them. A camel pack is full of water so they drink out of it from a tube. He also showed us some technical devices, like a head torch and a beacon.
Next Dreydon presented their goal. “To walk 80 km in under 24 hours to raise money for Glen Innes School.” He then explained that their goal was, S.M.A.R.T.: (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Bound.) So we then created a goal using S.M.A.R.T.. As Creating Communities knew they were raising money for our school, that was their motivation to do the walk. We all had to have something to motivate us to actually work at our goal.
Dreydon told us about a lady who did the walk who had sprained her ankle, broken a finger and still did the walk with the rest of the team. She continued the walk and received an award afterwards. She had inspired me to never give up and keep going.

Hello Shanelle
I thought that reading you writing about Dredon and Kate made me feel like walking.I made one just like this but I did not post it yet. When I was reading through your paragraph I found there enjoyable.Did you think that Dreydon was going to give a card with pineapple lumps.
Kia ora Shanelle
I enjoyed reading your post about the visitors coming to our class. I made one just like your's but I didn't post it yet. Also when he was telling us about that man who had one foot bigger than the other foot. Did you remember when Dreydon and Kate sent us some treats so we can enjoy.
Keep up the good work! :)
